Pro- Pizza is a delicious food.  Easy to get and loved by many, pizza has become the staple of parties, get-togethers, and celebrations in general. Pineapple is one of the sweetest fruits there is, and makes the perfect snack to cool you down on a hot day.  These seemingly opposite foods, when combined, create a delicious pizza combination that is objectively extremely tasty.  The saltiness of the pizza sauce and cheese, combined with the sweetness of the pineapple juice that oozes out after being cooked in the oven, creates that sweet and salty flavor that is so popular in foods such as chocolate covered pretzels, caramel corn, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and honey baked ham.  Huge swaths of people love those kinds of sweet and salty combinations but as soon as it is pineapple on pizza, it’s disgusting? A major complaint from pineapple-on-pizza-haters is the texture, which I can admit is probably the worst thing about this delicious treat.  However, I think the texture is improved when the fruit is cut thinner.  Also, once the food is in your mouth, the texture only matters for a couple of seconds before you start to chew.  At that point the delicious sweet pineapple juices mix with the cheesy flavors of the pizza to create an ensemble of deliciousness. Pineapple by itself is an extremely healthy food.  It is high in Vitamin C, potassium and fiber which help with digestion.  Everyone loves pizza but not everyone loves it a couple of hours later. By adding pineapple on your pizza you can ease the damage that pizza takes on your body. Adding pineapple might also make you feel less guilty about eating, which means you can eat more pizza, which will make you more happy.  Therefore, adding pineapple on pizza will make you more happy.  Pineapple by itself is extremely delicious and it elevates the taste of pizza. It has that sweet and salty taste that lots of people can get around. It also has health benefits, however if you are eating pizza you might not be worried about the healthiness of the food, which can make you feel less guilty about eating pizza. Pineapple on pizza is just a great food combination, and if it is “just wrong,” then I don’t want to be right!

 

Con- Pizza is enjoyed all around the world. Everyone loves pizza! There are an endless types of toppings you can put on pizza like, ham, sausage, barbeque sauce, pepperoni, olives, bacon, jalapenos, and many more. But pineapple on pizza is disgusting. The texture is revolting and the smell of it on pizza is awful. Pizza should be savored with something like ham, olives, and etc. Cheese and pineapple do not belong together. Cheese should be enjoyed with meat, like spaghetti and meatballs, or a burger. Cheese and pineapple has a weird taste that I do not enjoy. I have to be honest, pineapple is a great fruit, but it doesn’t taste very good on pizza.The smell makes me feel nauseous. Now let’s talk about the texture of pineapple on pizza. It is absolutely terrible. Most people who dislike pineapple on pizza do not enjoy the texture and I agree. Pizza has a different texture than pineapple, putting those two together ruins it for me. There are many other toppings that could make the pizza  feel so much better in your mouth and taste amazing. Nothing can change the texture of it, even if pineapple was cut thinner. Pizza isn’t a healthy food for our body, but adding some pineapple slices to it isn’t going to “ease the damage.” Yes, Pineapple is high in Vitamin C, potassium, and fiber, but adding it to an unhealthy dish will not help with the calories or the damages that are being done. If you are feeling guilty about eating something unhealthy, drinking water is a great way to feel healthy. In conclusion, pineapple on pizza is disgusting and I would never like to eat it again.
